For feedaholics NNW is the business Kevin; it's probably my "most used" app. I've tried various others (Safari, Newsfire, Vienna, Google Reader) but they don't have NNW's efficiency or features.

For occasional feed readers on OS X I'd recommend the RSS reader built-in to Apple's Mail. My wife uses it to get her Lolcats fix and I think the "inbox" analogy with read-only email works really well for those who don't know or care about web feeds.

It remains to be seen if reading more will necessarily get you writing more... it could prove inspiring—or distracting!
