ProVoc Flashcards App for Mac

I just discovered ProVoc Flashcards via the Chinese Mac group and thought it was worth sharing, as I was not aware of it before and have actively searched for Mac flashcard apps many times in the past. It is in the same league with Genius and iFlash, also both great Mac flashcard apps. What I particularly like about ProVoc is that it handles media (audio, pictures and movies) the best of any flashcard app I’ve ever used, and it’s free.

Speaking of flashcards, if you are studying Chinese characters and have a Mac I’ve prepared a Genius flashcard database of around 1000 of the most common characters. You can find more info on this site’s Chinese Study Resources page.

    ProVoc is an excellent tool, I use it to reinforce Chinese vocabulary.

    New Chinese words are notoriously difficult to remember, I find ProVoc helps.

    There is also Cram for Mac. It has flashcards and multiple choice testing. It also pairs with the iPhon
