Zhang Jiehai is Enraged

Remember Zhang Jiehai, a Chinese professor of psychology and member of the Shanghai Academy of Science? Sure you do, he’s the guy who has written such treasures as,

“Look! Look at the Faces of These Ugly Foreign Men!” (Chinese)

“Do All Foreign Women Have AIDS?” (Chinese)

And passed along such nuggets of wisdom (Chinese) as,

Here, I wish to solemnly tell everybody — for any research done by a foreigner on China, you can put up a question mark first. Especially, those foreigners who come to make some short trips in several major cities in China and are greeted and shown around by Chinese people. You might as well as not listen to what they say. That is not because they are stupid, but because the situation of our nation is too special.

And most notably (Chinese),

Today, with tremendous anger, I will tell you the story of an immoral foreigner and I call upon all Chinese compatriots to get together and kick this immoral foreigner out of China.

Well, Dr. Zhang has now written a book that is due in stores soon. The title of the book is, appropriately, 《我愤怒》, I’m Enraged (though I’m Deranged would be even more appropriate). The book has three sections:

1) To psychoanalyze Chinese people.
2) To psychoanalyze Chinese society.
3) To tell the true story of the “Sex and Shanghai” incident.

He’s put up a bit of detail about the contents of this book on his blog.

I wonder if he’ll go into his thoughts on ernai and condemn sexually immoral Chinese while he’s at it or if he only wants immoral foreigners to 滚出中国, get the fuck out of China.
